what the problem is when i boot up the wii with wiikey

first i have checked the dip switch settings and all cables. what the problem is when i boot up the Wii Accessories with wiikey and disc drive attatched the drive and the chip will not power on. if i try to play a game from usb loader or shop channel game it will start to load and then tell me to eject disc. if i start up the Wii Accessories with just the chip it appears to work. the disc channel will show it has a gamecube game in it and all the other ways of playing games work. but when i open the disc channel it does load up the wiikey screen and i can go into the config menu but when i try to launch a wii game it goes to an error screen and wont do anything until i pull the power cord and plug it back in. another troubling thing is i got the chip from modchipcentral which is a official reseller and i have bought from them in the past without issues but when i try to download a update from the wiikey site it asks for a serial number. i have verified the serial number on the chip itself and from the wiikey screen on the tv, the both match but when i enter it on the wiikey site it tells me invalid serial number. any ideas, thoughts or suggestions would be helpful at this point.

Softmod Wii with Blurred / Pixelated Games

Just like the title says, I did a softmod using modmii. If i put in my original Wii Accessories sports game or use the USB verison i copied from it the game is blurry/pixelated. For instance you can not really see the face of the pitcher in baseball clearly. I have tried other games as well and they all have choppy graphics espcially when objects are moving. I have tried the original composite cables as well as an HDMI adapter I bought. No difference. I recently tried mod me again thinking some IOS may be out of date. Still no luck. Any help is appreciated.

Soft modded WII unusual problem

I have a strange problem on my modded Wii and I am wondering if anybody can help?

I have the Wii running on 4.1 and it is softmodded. I play games through Neogamma and it has worked brilliantly for years. Last week I burned a couple of games for the kids which were Just dance 3 and Disney adventures. These have played great and all worked fine.

However two days ago the wii has failed to play any game. Neogamma will not open and the Wii freezes when I try and the games do not show the game in the disc channel on the homepage.

So I've read alot on this. most is the internet channel. My Wii is soft modded. It keeps failing when i download the new internet channel. My internet is pretty slow. Its a MiFi.

Is there a another way to stream video from the pc to the Wii. Is there a WAD browser ? I've tried the WAD but it keeps erroring.. out, some 1035 error.

The wii is the worst for media. I have a ps3 and 360, but those stay in the living room. the wii is for the kids in the bedroom.

How To Update Existing Wii Softmod Setup?

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Wii Accessories | Posted on 28-03-2012

I've received a Wii console that has already been soft-modded. It was set up by a friend and all I have to do is finish the setup. I'm not 100% sure which method he used to soft-mod it, however, it was completed correctly as he played backup games from a HDD for awhile to test it before I received the console.

I've did some research via the many Wii modding tutorials, and based on the info I also pulled from the Wii itself (that I assume would be helpful for anyone to help me), here is where I am:

1) My Wii console version is 4.2U (based on the info in the settings menu)

2) The Homebrew Channel is installed. Upon loading the channel it's blank with a blink "signal" icon blinking in the bottom lower right hand corner. The version info says 1.08 & IOS58 v23.30 "Network Not Installed"

3) If I select BootMii the console just cycles and the power slot blinks but nothing happens.

So where do I go from here? Do I need to update the softmod (as all of this was done about two years ago). Should the Homebrew Channel also be reinstalled/updated?

If the homebre chanel is runnning on ios 58 then it is fairly up to date.

Google Modmii, run the wizard on your PC and it will download everything you need, start the guide from after the installation of the homebrew channel and it will update everything for you.

Bootmii needs the bootmii folder on the SD card otherwise it will not run (modmii will do this for you)

Sounds great. One quick question before I begin with the tutorial:

I notice the Wii still has a lot of old save files and game profiles from where my friend used it. Id like to start clean and wipe all this out and have the opportunity to reset the console settings myself "the console nickname, etc…).

Is there a way to do this? I notice there is an option in the Wii settings to wipe this data. Is this something I can do or should do with the soft-mod files already on there?

Wii BLANK HBC after softmod

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 28-03-2012

I'm new at softmod. I did the Modmii softmod as told by others here. All went well and everything looks good. However I'm confused about one thing. After removing the SD card that I used per instruction in the Modmii softmod, I reboot the console and went back into HBC and it was blank. Only the bubbles are there… But when I put the SD card back in and restarted HBC there was apps in HBC. Does that mean I always have to have that SD card in there to see any apps or do I need to install apps into the HBC? If so, how do I install apps into HBC? The Modmii instruction doesnt mention that…

Also I wanted to use the SD slot to play my wbfs backups but dont know how to do that. Is there instructions or links to what I need to install and how to prep my sd card to be able to play via sd slot verse the usb?

( I have a micro sd card that I formated into wbfs drive and inserted that into a usb adapter and was able to play my backups via usb loader channel without any problems ) I just didnt want to be messing with removing the usb adapter in the back of the Wii. So I was think if I could use a SD adapter for the micro 8gb card and just play from the front SD slot. Didnt know if it was possible.

Answers:

Of course apps that were on my SD card from the Modmii softmod are: Multi-MOD Manager, WiiFlow, CFG USB Loader, IOS236 Installer v5 MOD, MyMenuifyMod, Priiloader 236 Mod, Simple IOS Patcher 1.14, and HackMii Installer.

How would add more channels into the Wii System Menu? ( like Backup Disk Channel, HBC, USBLoaderCFG Channel, USB Loader Channel ) I know those were added from the softmod but can I add more channels into the Wii system Menu? If so, how? or does it only get added into the HBC section?

How to Patch PAL Wii Backup File System to play on NTSC Wii?

I've obtain a few Wii PAL WBFS files and wanted to know if I can patch them to convert to NTSC WBFS? I have two Wii's. One is hard mod with the WiiKey 2 and the other is soft mod with HBC on it. I didnt do either one of the mods so I dont know what I need to do to make it play. I read online that with the 4.3u Wii update I cant play it on the hard mod Wii after conversion because it will still be in PAL ISO right? I used Wii Game Manager v1.5 to convert the wbfs to iso but it wont play on either Wii… I was ensured that the file is good but just cant get it to play… Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated…

If your wii is past 4.1 system menu then the option of playing out of region games was removed by Nintendo. If you play games from a Hard Drive then this does not matter as the loader can patch the games on boot, this works for 99% of games.

If you are playing them from disc then you will need to bypass this on the Softmod wii – turn the wii off, press the power button then immediately press and hold the reset button. Does priiloader show up (usually a white screen with options) if it does at the bottom of the page is hacks and you can enable region free.

If you are burning to disc then you need to get the right discs (can't remember if its + or – R google will help) Verbatium get good reviews, the disc needs to be burnt slowly) also it may need to be patched again google will help.

Look at softmodding both wii's and use a hard drive, this is the best way to go.

Soft modded 4.3U, Controllers disconnecting

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Wii Accessories | Posted on 06-03-2012

I wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. I have a new wii (black super mario bundle) which has the included new "motionplus built in" controllers. Its at 4.3U.

Softmodded with Priiloader/hackmii letterbomb etc, and was working fine. Now for unknown reasons, when slecting wiiflow from the channel list (or from Sd card) the controllers turn off and wont resynch. The game titles (on hard drive) are appearing when loading wii flow, but with the controller off and just blinking, i have no way to select a game etc.

Not sure what this could be, any thoughts?

Can i hurt anything (or screw it up more) if I just do re-try everything from scratch doing it the "modmii" way? Ie. will it overwrite the current soft mod or do I have to do a factory reset or somthing like that?

Hei,Guys! Just hooked up my wii after a long time and tried pling New Super Mario, but there is about a .5 second lag on the remote remote speed. Thought it might be the led tv, but it is the same on another lcd screen. I am using the standard av (red, white and yellow) cables. Would that matter?

My Wii bizzare loader problem

This problem has me scratching my head and maybe someone could help? I've got my 4.1u wii hooked up to a TB HDD with usb loader gx. Everything that matters is up to date.

I have barbie groom and glam playing no problem at my place. But couldn't get it working on my ex's wii. Updated everything on her end and even tried cfg loader, with no luck.

Ok, You've seen that problem before! However, I bring my wii, and HDD over and hook it up there, and it doesn't work either???? Bring it back home and it works. Every other game I tried has worked over there, but this one game?

Anybody ever heard of this happening before? I made sure, of a wifi connection setup. Only other difference is I use a component cable and she uses the standard A/V one.

The difference between Wii motion plus and Wii remote?

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Wii Controllers | Posted on 02-02-2012

So you already have a wii-mote with the motion plus attachment (A little box that connects to the bottom of it)? If so, then if you want to play with a second person, you would need to buy both another wii mote and a motion plus if the game requires it. If the game doesn't need the motion plus, however, you just need to buy a second wiimote and nunchuck (if the game requires the nunchuck as well).

Just to make sure there is no confusion. The wii mote is the actual controller you will be using to play games. The motion plus is just an attachment that connects to the bottom of the wii-mote that allows for better accuracy with it on certain games. The motion plus is not another type of controller, just accessory. The other attachment with a joystick in the middle is the nunchuck. You will need to buy a second one as well if you wish to play with 2 players.

USB Loader GX can’t find my HD!

I am new to Softmoding a Wii (or any sort of console moding). I have a Wii with 4.0e on it, and have gone through this guide new and improved wii softmod guide ! (great guide and worked perfectly) to install Homebrew, and then I have gone through this guide guide: usb loader gx to install USB Loader GX, and the application opens but can?t find the hard drive (tried both USB?s). I?m using a Lacie 160gb Mobile Disk, which according to this (USB Devices Compatibility List) should work, but isn?t. I have installed WBFS Manager 3.0.1 and formatted the drive to WBFS, but no love.

When I plug the HD into the Wii the blue led on the HD comes on for a while (around 30 secs I guess), and then goes off, so to me that says that it is not on, so I?m guessing that is the problem, but I have no idea how to fix it. Does anyone have any idea of what is wrong and how to fix it?

Solution:

the wii can be picky in detecting drives. before plugging the drive in, turn off the wii. then plug it in the left side (bottom if flat). then turn on the wii. i've always done this on my custom external, and it always works.

How to USB Loader GX resets to Wii Menu

I have softmodded my wii. I put the homebrew channel on with usb loader and bootmii. I thought this was all i needed to do. but when i try to play a game off my external device, wii resets to wii menu. I also cant install game from dvd to exteranl device/ I have used letterbomb to exploit 4.3E version. Anyone help?

Solution:

Sounds like you did not softmod correctly, what cios's did you install? Bets option is to google modmii, run the wizard on a PC and it will download everything you need – inc a guide. This should show you what you missed. Also is you device compatible – google wii usb device compatibility.

How To Install Neogamma On My Wii?

I'm having trouble installing Neogamma on my wii in order to play games.

I've been trying to install a Wad manager to my Wii since it seems I need it to install Neogamma (Right now, I have a wad file called: NeoGamma R9 Beta 50 – NGBT.wad and from what I know, I need a wad manager to install this). But I'm having trouble with getting Wad manager to work.

My Wii is 3 years old and currently has 4.3E firmware. I also got the homebrew channel on my wii already.

Could someone show me how to install the Wad manager. Or show me a different way of installing Neogamma?

how to hack new blue Wii console?

I just got the new blue wii. I was wondering if this wii can be modded to play games off of a usb hdd and if so what would be the best mod or hack to go with and where to find a guide…

Answer:

Yes it can. best and easiest is a programme called mod mii, tell mod mii that your wii is a virgin, it will down load everything you need plus a guide to take you through it

Like tongs said it can, but remember the only way you will be able to play games is by having games inside a HDD and having it connect to your wii via USB. The DVD drive for the new Wii's cannot read burned or copied games unfortunately.

How to have Hardmodded Japanese Wii?

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in News & Reviews | Posted on 28-12-2011

I have a Japanese Wii hardmodded with Wiikey 2. I bought a legit Japanese copy of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and a message appeared that said I needed to update the wii in order to be able to play the game.

Thinking I had no choice if I wanted to play Zelda SS, and also being unaware that the 3.4 update disables the region free function of the wiikey, I completed the update. After the update, Japanese originals and copies still work fine, but European games doesn't work anymore (as I should have checked out before updating).

Do I have to softmod the Wii in order to be able to play E/U originals and backups on disk again? Or will I only be able to play E/U games by loading ISO files through USB drives using the softmod method? While being able to load ISOs from USB drives is not bad, I'd also like to be able to play legit E/U disks. What should I do?

About Wii D2CKey and Latest Update

I'm wondering if you can help me. I've used the search function but can only find things from a year ago, so apologies if this has been posted before.

I live in the UK, but I have a NTSC-U Wii bought in 2007. It has a D2CKey modchip, which has been great ever since and performed regular updates online (as recommended on this site). However, my last update about a year ago stopped my PAL backups working and kept it to only playing my NTSC ones.

I am about to update to the latest update (4.3u) via the wii and want to know the following:

(1) Advice before has been that it is perfectly safe to update online with a modchip (d2ckey) and not brick your wii -

Does this still stand?

(2) I am no longer able to play out of region back-ups, will the 4.3 stop me playing ANY backups now?

(3) Will I be able to softmod my wii after the update has been applied (never softmodded before)

I have no HBC channels installed, so not concerned about channels being removed.

Black wii disc drive transfer problem

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in News & Reviews | Posted on 01-11-2011

I have a question about my new black wii. I had to purchase a new wii because my old one was softmodded and I accidentally updated with a game which caused it to brick. I softmodded my new wii and have the bootmii backups and everything this time. But I learned that the black wii cannot play gamecube backups through the disc drive or usb. So is it possible for me to transfer disc drives and if so how? And if there is a way to play gamecube games off the usb I would rather do that.

Nope and Nope for both answers.

The drives for both Wii's are completly different and if you attempt to change them then you will only end up screwing your new Wii.

Also the only way there is to get Cube games working is on DVDs and NO they have not made it possible to play them off a HDD yet.

So you are out of luck.

Plus Cube games are old….why would you want to play em…. No one ever does these days anwyays. I have them but hardly touch em.

I would look into getting your Wii unbricked as there is a chance it might be only Half bricked and can be repaired.

So I had softmodded my friends wii, but he took it home once and updated it with epic mickey. I updated using smash stack, in 4.3 and i have a nand backup. The problem isn't running HBC, but I cant run anything out of it. Is there a way to fix this? Either by changing something or factory reseting it, then doing the process over again? When I try to run USB Loader GX 1.0 r938 it tells me:

Usb loader needs unstubbed cios 222 v4 or 249 v9+ But I've installed both. Any ways to fix this?

What do all of these games have in common on Wii?

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in News & Reviews | Posted on 11-10-2011

What do all of these games have in common? Technically none of them are in development. Considering some of these "experiences" were quite entertaining and great demonstrations of Wii U's innovative controller, I'm almost a little shocked Nintendo is so hesitant to admit that, yes, some of the cool stuff I've seen might actually see the light of day.

So that adds another question to the queue. What is Nintendo actually doing? Will we see any major franchises at launch? Will we get more Mii-based games? Will there be some free software included with the console? Will we get a Mario game at the launch of a Nintendo home console for the first time in over 15 years? Outside of Super Smash Bros., which hasn't even started development, and Pikmin 3, which is feels like vaporware at this point, we know next to nothing about what's in store for Wii U. It's not necessarily surprising considering the system doesn't have a release date, but to not know what Nintendo is doing is to not know a significant amount about Wii U.

Ninja Gaiden III will release on Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in News & Reviews | Posted on 11-10-2011

Since its announcement at E3, the Wii U version of Ninja Gaiden III has been a mystery. Until now, it hasn't been clear if the title would be developed alongside the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions or if it would be entirely separate. In a new interview with VG247, localization head Peter Garza has clarified.

"It's not being developed in parallel, but we do have the game up and running on the dev hardware," Garza said. "We're still playing with control schemes to see what would be fun with Wii U, but it's definitely there and it's definitely getting worked on."

Little is known about Nintendo's development kits for Wii U, but Garza confirms that Team Ninja is doing its best to get the most out of the system.

"We're just getting it up and running now on Wii U and we're still finding out what the hardware can do and how to work with the hardware itself," he said. "We're at a very early stage, so we can't say that we're pushing it to its limits right now, but I can tell you that the team being what it is is definitely interested in pushing the hardware as hard as it can."

Garza added that the team is proud of its work on previous systems and will try to make sure the Wii U version is the best game it can possibly be.

"With 3DS, when we brought out Dead or Alive: Dimensions, that was one of the best looking 3DS games out there," he said. "We really wanted to use whatever hardware we were on, we want to use to its full potential and really push that. Not just in spec, but the features that make that hardware unique. So for right now with Wii U, we're just starting to know what Wii U is and how we can make it fun."

Ninja Gaiden III is set to release on Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.

Typical way to content Nintendo wii console online games is always to try a modchip, in order to change the Nintendo wii console xbox 360 by simply removing the idea as well as posting a brand new computer chip. I got got homebrew channel on my 4.3e wii, now what i want to do is transfer disc games to my usb and also i want to make new copies of my old wii games to a new disc, because some dvd are getting scratced and unable to read.

Answer:

You need to find a USB Loader (I use Configurable USB Loader) and a Compatible USB hard drive USB device formatted to FAT(32). (I use a WD500 My Book). There are tutorials on here for Config USB Loader, You need to have IOS222 and/or 223 installed on your Wii.

And as for saving your backups to your USB, you will be able to once you install the loader.

Why My Wiimote Keep Turning Off and on During Play Games

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Wii Controllers | Posted on 22-09-2011

Does anyone know how to correct the problem for the Wii remote turning itself on and off during play on the new super mario brothers game? I just noticed it maybe 20 minutes ago. It is only happening on one wiimote and it is fully charged.

Solution:

I'm playing my back up. This is the first time that it has occurred. Not sure if it happens on other games, but it happened with New Super Mario Brothers. The only csio I installed was 249.

I am using rechargeable batteries with charge station. I purchased them about 3 months ago and it only happens when I am playing New Super Mario Brothers. Not sure if it's the batteries themselves, but I went ahead and reinstalled all of my wads through wad manager. Hopefully it will correct it. Not sure though. Using CSIO 249 v17. According to MMM, it was running 346 v54321. It only happens to one of the wiimotes and shuts off every couple of minutes.

I have had this problem before and what I found it to be was the GAY ASS BATTERIES. Sometimes you buy cheap ass batteries that don't hold for long or make ur Wii mote tell you there is a lot of power left in them but in fact there isn't and then you get the Sync problems. I say put in new batteries and try again. This should solve your problems. It did for me

The happy things find in the Wii trash

It’s going to happen sooner or later, on every system you own. You’re going to want to download something, or install something, or save a game, and you’re going to discover you’re out of storage space. So you’ll have to wade into the data management option in search of stuff to delete. And you’ll discover things you’d long since forgotten.

For instance, to make room to download a Wii Ware title, today I discovered that I played Manhunt 2 on the Wii. I did? There even was a Manhunt 2? And it was on the Wii? Also I apparently played something on the Wii called Boogie. I’d rather you didn’t let that get around.

Can anybody give me a direct download for the wads you need to install in the wii so you can hack the DLC ?

I don't want any torrents.I found 4 wads off someone in youtube but every time i tried to install them it said error (-2011) then I installed IOS 249 and said error (1022) and its getting really annoying, I don't know if i have the wrong files or need to install a different IOS, so can you help me and find the right files I need for a Wii 4.1 ?

Solution:

Error -1022 is normal. It means it is installed but no channel title was installed. You should see DLC as purchased in RB2 now.

I am planning to buy a wii and my question is, what is the difference between soft mod and hard mod? could anyone please explain to me the difference in layman's term. thank you very much to those who would answer.

Solution:

Soft mod is when you mess with the software, such as programs and applications, hard mod is when you mess with the actual hardware such as wires motherboards and the like.

Softmod = Modding the software

Hardmod = Modding the hardware

Good luck on your Wii purchase

Internal Cooling Fan in My Wii is Broken

Your day We introduced Very Mario Universe property, We played out to get regarding twenty seconds plus the method simply just stop running unexpectedly and there was no standby gentle upon or perhaps everything. We remembered looking at one thing regarding the Wiiconnect24 causing overheating and so We resolved to go around and disabled of which (I'd in order to unplug the electricity on the method in order to reset the item and find this standby gentle to come back).

After allowing this method neat down to get regarding an hour, We tested out participating in Mario again plus the same thing took place again after regarding the exact timeframe. Upon both occasions We found this method were feeling warmer than typical. Messing by using it extra, We found I possibly could definitely not listen to this lover working or perhaps look any kind of air staying offered out of the vent.

I'm simply just curious about whenever this can be a common issue for the reason that We googled the item and wouldn't uncover every other folks complaining regarding everything equivalent. We accomplish thinking about calling Nintendo way up shortly, as We continue to have a assurance, but inside indicate period We picked up a Nyko Wii Internal cooling fan  to get ten money and so I could sport within the upcoming journey smashes.

I realize the aim of the following issue is literally to boost air blood flow inside Nintendo, but around the event, it really is working on this broken inside lover. I need to express, the item functions excellent and maintains this Nintendo as neat or cooler than the inside lover did.

Have Wii ISO File Burning Problem

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in News & Reviews | Posted on 01-09-2011

I promise I put in the hours before asking, scoured the discussions, made enough coasters to feed a family of 8…Anyway, I have a Rar file I made to an ISO using Folder2ISO, I'm now trying to burn the file to disc (quality dvd-r-Verbatim)using Imgburn and I've seen nothing but failure.

I must note I don't see any indicator my file to ISO file ever actually became an ISO as I can't see any ISO indicators but I ran it through folder2iso successfully. How can I test the disc to see if it was a good burn? Is there a guide to take megaupload/Fileserve files etc from a raw rar file to ISO you can direct me to?

Please help a frustrated daddy impress his little boy. Oh, and I have a modded Wii that's got a password I don't know so it could be a hitch? Wouldn't think so though, the guy I had mod my Wii is no longer in the state so I can't ask him the password. Hope this wasn't too convoluted.

Best Way

Really so cool of you to take your valuable time to help a stranger TongPo (sorry, gotta like Van Damme movies to get that!)So I just overcomplicated it by processing an already processed file I assume. I'm trying it now the way I think you mean, right click on the first rar file and put it in a file I can find on my desktop, then I'll burn it using Imgburn which I use every day to make flicks and I will use "write image file to disc" I assume.

Then I will try to use the loader in homebrew and see what happens. One possible issue is the guy who modded my Wii moved out of state and I'm sure he password protected the game files (about 400 on a Terabyte external HD) so I could be screwed, can't access the Wii games except to dump/delete. He put 50 movies on it I can't find either!

How to Transfer ISO Image File to USB Sandisk 8G Card

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in News & Reviews | Posted on 01-09-2011

I'm trying to transfer a Wii ISO (already in image file format) to an 8 Gig USB Sandisk (not an HDD, it's a thumb drive). I did the usual first, I read forums, watched Youtube vids and with 20 different methods, many clearly outdated, it's only made what I'm sure is pathetically simple, very confusing.

I tried to simply copy the image file from my PC to the USB 8 gig, but it said the file was too big? Brand new empty 8 gig thumb drive, 4.7 gig image file? I didn't format or partition the new 8 gig Sandisk because I didn't know if I was supposed to and I didn't know how.

I do have Wii Backup Mgr on my PC but I've never used it before. Also I didn't know if I was supposed to remove the 2 gig SD card from my modded Wii and put it in my PC to do this job. No need to show me anything further as my Wii has all the Homebrew stuff including USB Loader, I simply need help putting the damn game file on the empty 8 gig usb

Sorry guys but I have 10 blown discs from a bad motorcycle wreck and sitting this long has been agony. I make the guy on House look like he's a Tic Tac addict (chew vicodin like Certs)

Solution:

You're thumb drive is probably formatted to fat32 which will not let you put on a file that is larger than 4 gigs.

You have two options, the first is to format the drive to WBFS with WBFS Manager. Then locate the .iso you want, click add .iso, and WBFS will do the work. If, and when you extract the .iso for any reason it will still be in .iso format. You can find WBFS Manager here. You can then load up the drive in USB Loader GX or CFG USB Loader.

Your second option would be to format the drive to NTFS, slide the .iso on and use a USB Loader that supports NTFS. I'm pretty sure CFG USB Loader supports NTFS, but I'm not sure, as I use WBFS and go through USB Loader GX. You can find CFG USB Loader here.

Don't forget to safely remove the drive after adding games!

How do you MOD Call of Duty: World at War for the Wii?

Give up on playing my backed up game discs problem

About to give up on playing my backed up game discs

I have the homebrew channel installed though the new letterbomb. My Wii is on 4.3. Every tutorial i have tried has not worked. The farthest I have gotten on one was to where I load the wad manager but it freezez up the wii with a black screen. Got a kid here with a cracked paper mario game (i accidentaly stepped on it) and they are throwing a fit that I can’t get it to play. Wii housing shell case

Solution:

how old is your wii??? if you have a newer wii you will no longer to be able to use disc backups because of the new type of drive they have. your only option is to softmod your system.

It sounds like you do not have an exploitable ios.

Download Modmii, run it on your pc and it will get everything you need. The guide – in the copy to sd folder will refer to the game exploit (you can bypass this as you already have it) you need to run the ios236 installer and then run the rest of the guide to install the wad’s

4GB SDHC card and Wii Homebrew can not work together

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 23-08-2011

I hacked my Wii using a 4GB SDHC card and the letterbomb exploit, and it worked fine. The guide also made me install the homebrew channel, bootmii, and a NAND backup. For the next stage of the guide says that to install priiloader, WADs, and some applications, only an SD card will work not a SDHC.

Can someone explain why, and what the risk of using the SDHC is because I cant find this info anywhere.

Solution:

Most guides were written pre 4.1 wii firmware, 4.0 system menu and below cannot see sdhc cards, hence will not work. When installing wads the system menu is not running so it may not be able to see the card, I would always use what is recommended. Potentially it should just mean that the WADs cannot be seen, but I would not want to try it unless I had Bootmii as Boot2

Also some programs (backing up your nand) are very picky on what SD card they will work with. I always use a Sandisk 2.0GB and have had no issues.

Wii USB loader problem

My Wii was working fine with the Wii extenal USB drive connected on second USB slot, we were able to load the games from USB using the USB loader channel, however now when we load usb loader channel it gives a blank screen hence we are unable to load from USB drive or disk. I tried to access the same USB from the homebrew channel although it is unable to detect it whereas USB HD is in working condition apperently it looks like USB loader software is corrupted.

Solution:

(1)Need to know what you have done, has the Wii been updated??

Best option is to find and run a program called modmii on your pc – this will download everything you need and generate a guide, tell the wizard that your wii is a virgin one and as you already have the homebrew channel start the generated guide from after the HBC part

(2)Are you connected to WiFi when loading HomeBrew? I have a similar problem, but being connected to WiFi fixes it for some reason. I think the software crashes when trying to check for an update without an internet connection.

Nintendo Wii Slim Removes Gamecube Support

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Wii Controllers | Posted on 19-08-2011

Aug 17th morning during Gamescom 2011 the Big N announced they will be releasing an even smaller cuter Wii Family Edition for the holiday season this year in UK. The system, colored similarly to the original, is designed to lay horizontally and a little smaller than the already tiny Wii, but buyer beware; it will no longer support GameCube games or controllers. There’s no confirmation on if the bundle will be making a debut in North America.

A significant portion of the size of the original Wii was dedicated to the GameCube controller slots on the side which appear to have been removed along with the GameCube memory slots on the front. Many Wii games have supported GameCube controllers over the years, as many players prefer the old controller for non-motion controlled games. For example, in the fa- favorite Super Smash Bros, using anything other than a GameCube controller is considered a handicap, but the sequel to Super Smash Bros is years away and hardcore fans will already own a Wii. Wii Family Edition buyers will be forced to buy the Wii Classic Controller which will prevent further sales of used GameCube controllers, cutting Nintendo in on a bigger piece of the accessories market. That is, if people will still be buying Wiis going forward.

It’s not as though Nintendo hasn’t entirely given up on GameCube games; They confirmed that some GameCube games will be downloadable on the Wii U WiiWare just like they’ve done for Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 games in the past. Don’t worry everyone, your favorite games aren’t lost forever, you’ll just be paying for them a second or third time.

The new Wii bundle comes with a fully upgraded Wii Remote Plus controller and a nunchuk accessory – which you’ll need for the new Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword coming out November 20th. Wii Sports and Wii Party games are both included in the bundle which is a bonus compared to the original Wii bundle’s offering of only Wii Sports.

The Wii Slim follows in the footsteps of both the PlayStation 3 Slim and the Xbox 360 Slim which are upwards of 30% smaller than their predecessors. The Wii was already smaller than the competition’s updated models so the small decrease in size isn’t exactly a key selling feature. The Wii U is due for release in 2012 so you have to wonder if this release might confuse Christmas consumers looking to buy “the new Wii” and what they bring home to their kids is a scaled back model of the five-year old console. Poor kids. Maybe they’ll get a Wii U next year.

If you don’t already own a Wii, can a smaller model that includes two games and a fully upgraded controller entice you or does the removal of GameCube support or the PS3 pricedrop ruin it?

Wii USB Loader can’t run from Wii menu anymore, but HBC it will

I (attempted) to update USB Loader through the Wii using WIFI. Update downlaoded, completed and insdtalled (well so it said at the time!), then came up with a message saying it was restarting, screen went black and it just hung, never came back up again. I waited approx 10 mins then had to reset the console.

Now I can’t load the HDD from the Wii menu, I can start it through HBC no problem and it’s operating ok, so I know the games are there and they seem to be ok. I’ve played a few.

At the Wii menu I have the USB Loader icon (previously installed wad??), I click it and it thinks for a few moments then just takes me straight back to the Wii menu.

I’ve checked the USB Loader GX Prog and I am still using Version 1!!!! So it must only take effect after the re-boot – which did not happen.

Do I simply need to install the wad which is (and always had been?) saved to the sd card (USBLoaderGX-r850.wad) which will put a new icon on my Wii menu to launch USB Laoder from there? (Kids are using the Wii HBC is not an option here!)

I am runnin Wii 4.2E, USB Loader GX V1 (Rev850 IOS249 Rev 14), I also have HBC installed, Priloader, wad manager etc.

Control Monster Hunter Tri? Wii + Nunchuck or Classic Wii Controller?

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 17-08-2011

I am going to pre-order Monster Hunter Tri for the wii, but I dont know what controller I should use. Wii + Nunchuck or Classic Wii Controller?

Solution:

The Wii Classic controller is going to be your best bet. The reason is that you get the second analog stick to move the camera with. Using the d-pad to move the camera is going to be painfully annoying and in the case of monster hunter, its going to cost you your life a couple dozen times.
You have to constantly switch between targets in that game and there’ll always be an enemy behind you if you’re not carefull.

The game comes with the classic controller pro in a bundle if you want to do that, as the regular classic controller has a nice retro feel to it, drawing back from the NES, but doesn’t actually feel good in your hands, being in the oval shape that it is.. I guess they didn’t realize that having the handles was to “improve” the controller. What I did was buy an attachment which added the handles.

Wii locks External Hard drive

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Wii Accessories | Posted on 16-08-2011

I use a WBFS formatted Wii external drive to store my Wii games to use on my soft mod unit. Recently my Wii keeps locking up if I use HomeBrew/NeoGamma to access these games via USB. I can access my drive using WBFs Manager 3.0 on my PC and can add or delete games. Has anyone had this same problem, and if so how did you fix it?

Solution:

Format the hard drive. Not just a quick format, but do the long one and then format it with WBFS manager. Try some loading games back. See if that fixes it. Hard drives go bad. It can happen sooner than later in some case. You may need another hard drive.

How to become a better pitcher in Wii Sports Baseball?

I know how to pitch all kinds of balls (Screwballs, Curveballs, Fastballs, and Splitters) but my opponents (computer) always hits it. Its very rare that I get a strike. That’s how I end up losing every almost every game. Can you tell me how to be a better pitcher in Wii Sports? My skill level is somewhere around 600.

Solution:

Take off the velcro thing you put around your arm and then just throw the ball as hard as you can right at the middle of your TV.

How to clean the Wii lens cheaply?

Posted by WiiGame | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 09-08-2011

Recently, my Wii has not been reading any Wii games. I tried Goldenye, Rock Band 3 and other Wii games and none of them work. I found out my Wii may have dirty lens. Could I just use a regular lens cleaning disc to clean the Wii? I heard about the Wii Lens Cleaning Kit, but most people say it didn’t work. So what is the cheapest way to clean the Wii lens without sending it in for repair or buying the kit?

Solution:

Well,I did try a CD/DVD lens cleaning disc on my wii.Not one of my smartest ideas. My games worked for a day but then it stopped reading them.I’m pretty sure i F*cked up the lens or something.I wish I tried the Wii lens cleaning kit first. They should have them at Gamestop for about 10 dollars. At least try the wii lens cleaning kit first then the other cleaning disc. The first one i used really messed up my wii.It stopped taking in the discs completly. If i put one in,it would have been stuck halfways in there.I got the Wii lens cleaning kit next but i guess it was already too messed up for it to help.I eventually had to send it in for repairs. So as my final word of advice,at least try the wii lens cleaning kit first.

What Wii games make you get up and do stuff?

I like that kind better. I have Wii Fit, Wii Sports, and Wii Music. I also have Wii Play and Game Party, but the controls on those are really hard to get the hang of. I like Wii Sports and Wii Music the best.

Also, is there any game where you walk? On Wii Fit there is a running part, but I don’t know of any walking ones, and I like to walk.

Wii Fit makes me fall over a lot- I’m not too good at balance…and pretty much that’s all it is. I would also like one that doesn’t have difficult controls like Game Party.

I also like this kind because you can’t ‘beat’ them. You just play tennis, or play a song, or exercise, or…you get the point.

The ones you beat are useless after you beat them. What do you do with them then? There’s nothing else left to play!

Solution:

I would recommend wii personal Trainer the most its like wii fit only diffrent physics its a game where you have to stand up and all that you should give it a try!

Which is bettter the Wii Motionplus or the PS Move?

Ok, so which one has less lag and responds quicker to your movements. Because we all know the PS Move blows the Wiimote out of the water in motion. But what about the Wii motionplus?

Best Answer:

The wii motion plus is a lot better and it doesnt have a large ball on top of it
